Management management vs advisory mandate: how to choose?

Discretionary management or advisory mandate? Which is the best option for me?

What is a management mandate?

Managing financial wealth requires time, expertise and commitment. If you would rather devote your time elsewhere, if your skills lie in another field, or if you simply do not wish to take on this responsibility yourself, you can entrust the management of your assets to Piguet Galland.

Your portfolio managed by Piguet Galland

Management mandates are suitable for investors who wish to delegate the management of their assets to professionals.

Together, we determine your investor profile based on your investment horizon and risk appetite and manage your portfolio in line with your investment strategy.

The composition of your portfolio will vary according to the management mandate you choose (Index, Comfort, Premium).

Index management mandate

The Index mandate is invested primarily in index funds based on an asset allocation aligned with the Bank's investment strategy. Index funds are investment funds whose objective is to replicate the performance of their benchmark market, or market segment, by investing in a basket of securities. These funds are usually listed on a stock exchange. The Index mandate allows you to benefit from Piguet Galland's strategic views without being exposed to the fluctuations, favourable or unfavourable, of sector investments and individual securities.

Index funds also offer an alternative for investing in many expensive markets, such as emerging markets. Conversely, some asset classes, such as alternative funds, are unavailable through index funds.

Comfort management mandate

The Comfort mandate is invested primarily in financial products managed by Piguet Galland. This allocation ensures the best possible alignment of the portfolio with the Bank's strategic, tactical and sectoral views. The range of funds and structured products managed by Piguet Galland covers equities, bonds and alternative funds. For this universe, only products issued by Piguet Galland are used. On the other hand, exposure to commodities and real estate is obtained through financial products, whether index-linked or actively managed, issued by third parties.

Premium management mandate

Within the framework of Premium management mandates, Piguet Galland's financial products generally form the basic allocation of portfolios. Funds from third-party promoters, both traditional and alternative, complement these. In addition, direct investments in equities and bonds are added to the investment funds listed above, depending on the portfolio size. Equities and bonds, as well as third-party financial products, are carefully selected by Piguet Galland specialists. Their use makes it possible to invest directly in positions reflecting the Bank’s strongest convictions, whether they relate to specific sectors, themes or individual companies.

What is an advisory mandate?

Discover the fascinating world of financial markets, navigate alongside experienced professionals and make your investment decisions with confidence. We support you in developing a personalised strategy and encourage you to seize the investment opportunities available to you.

Your portfolio, advised by Piguet Galland

Advisory mandates are suitable for investors who want to make their own decisions but require support in implementing their defined investment strategy.

Together, we determine your investor profile based on your investment horizon and risk appetite and periodically submit proposals and ideas to support you in implementing this strategy.

These recommendations are selected from Piguet Galland’s financial products or from investments in equities, bonds or third-party financial instruments carefully chosen by Piguet Galland’s specialists.

The level and degree of personalisation of this support, as well as the range of investment solutions offered, will vary depending on the advisory mandate you choose (Basic, Smart or Advanced).

Basic advisory mandate

You have your ideas, and your approach is transactional:

  • Limited and sporadic support;
  • Access to the bank's general publications and our analysts' research;
  • You give your instructions, and your adviser places your orders in the market.

Smart advisory mandate

You want regular investment advice and proactive monitoring of your portfolio:

  • Regular contact with your wealth advisor;
  • Access to all the bank's publications and our analysts' research;
  • Investment recommendations and monitoring of whether your investments are in line with your objectives.

Advanced advisory mandate

You want to talk to our investment specialists and benefit from the advice of a dedicated expert:

  • Direct access to our specialists, service and intensity of tailored support from an Investment Advisor;
  • Personalised, in-depth advice on investment, optimisation and risk management;
  • Tailored investment strategy, access to a broader investment universe, and investment solutions designed to meet your specific needs.
