What is the difference between a management mandate and an advisory mandate?

Discretionary management or advisory mandate? Which is the best option for me?

What is a management mandate?

Managing financial assets requires time, skills and desire. Suppose you want to spend your time differently. In that case, if your skills lie in another area, or if you feel like devoting yourself to something other than this occupation, you can delegate the management of your assets to Piguet Galland.

Your portfolio managed by Piguet Galland.

Management mandates are suitable for investors who wish to delegate the management of their assets to professionals.

Together, we determine your investor profile based on your investment horizon and risk appetite and manage your portfolio in line with your investment strategy.

The composition of your portfolio will vary according to the management mandate you choose (Index, Comfort, Premium).

Index Mandate

The Index Mandate is invested primarily in index funds based on an asset allocation aligned with the Bank's investment strategy. Index funds are investment funds whose objective is to replicate the performance of their benchmark market, or market segment, by investing in a basket of securities. These funds are usually listed on a stock exchange. The Index mandate allows you to benefit from Piguet Galland's strategic views without being exposed to the fluctuations, favourable or unfavourable, of sector investments and individual securities.

Index funds also offer an alternative for investing in many expensive markets, such as emerging markets. Conversely, some asset classes, such as alternative funds, are unavailable through index funds.

Comfort Mandate

The Comfort Mandate is invested primarily in financial products managed by Piguet Galland. This allocation ensures the best possible alignment of the portfolio with the Bank's strategic, tactical and sectoral views. The range of funds and structured products managed by Piguet Galland covers equities, bonds and alternative funds. For this universe, only products issued by Piguet Galland are used. On the other hand, exposure to commodities and real estate is obtained through financial products, whether index-linked or actively managed, issued by third parties.

Premium Mandate

Within the framework of Premium management mandates, Piguet Galland's financial products generally form the basic allocation of portfolios. Funds from third-party promoters, both traditional and alternative, complement these. In addition, direct investments in equities and bonds are added to the investment funds listed above, depending on the portfolio size. Equities and bonds, as well as third-party financial products, are carefully selected by Piguet Galland specialists. These make it possible to invest directly in positions that are the subject of the most significant conviction on the part of the bank's specialists, whether in terms of sectors, themes or investments in specific companies.
