Work on the future Savoleyres Télémixte continues to progress. In August 2026, an important new technical milestone was reached on the first section of the future installation: the installation and splicing of the cable.
An important milestone in the construction
Installing the cable is one of the most visible stages in the construction of a mountain lift. This is followed by splicing, a process that permanently joins the ends of the carrying-hauling cable to form a continuous loop.
This milestone marks another tangible step forward for the project, bringing it progressively closer to the next phases of construction and commissioning.
A mountain lift designed for all four seasons
Beyond the winter season, the future Savoleyres Télémixte has also been designed as an all-season mountain lift.
This is particularly relevant at a time when the mountains are attracting an increasingly broad audience during the summer months. Hiking, mountain biking, trail running or simply seeking cooler temperatures and wide-open spaces: mountain resorts are now thriving well beyond the ski season.
And a visit to Savoleyres in the height of summer makes it easy to understand this growing appeal. The scenery changes, but the mountains remain every bit as spectacular.
Year-round accessibility will help support these evolving uses of the mountain while further enhancing the destination’s appeal throughout the seasons.
Following the project closely
As a partner of the project, Piguet Galland is closely following the different stages of its development.
We recently visited the site to see how the work is progressing and document this latest phase of construction. It was also an opportunity to rediscover Savoleyres in summer and to be reminded, once again, that the mountains have much more to offer than winter alone.
