Jérôme Morel Team Leader Lausanne and Wealth Advisor
As part of our new series dedicated to the people who embody Piguet Galland’s boutique model, we are delighted to shine a light on the journeys and achievements of our colleagues.
To launch this series, we give the floor to Jérôme Morel, Lausanne Team Leader and Wealth Advisor, who was recently doubly recognised at the 2025 Citywire Private Banking Awards.
Awarded in the categories Best Private Banker Romandie and Best Male Private Banker, Jérôme represents a vision of private banking built on proximity, attentiveness and truly bespoke support, values at the very heart of our identity.
In this interview, he reflects on his double win, his career path, and what shapes the unique relationships he builds with his clients every day.
“It’s a great source of pride and recognition of my commitment”
Jérôme, you’ve just received two major distinctions at the Citywire Awards. What did you feel when you heard the news?
It was already a surprise to be nominated alongside such recognised professionals, so winning two distinctions… I first felt a great deal of pride. It is a genuine acknowledgment of my consistent work and of my commitment to my clients.
Awards that recognise a demanding and human-centred approach
What do these prizes represent in your day-to-day activity?
They acknowledge my qualities and skills as a private banker. I see them as an encouragement to continue with the same approach and way of supporting my clients.
In your view, what made the difference?
It’s hard to say, humility is important. Many private bankers practise their profession with passion and professionalism. For my part, it’s this very passion that has driven me for many years: supporting clients through their life projects and being present at important moments in their story.
A career built step by step, with consistency and passion
How would you describe your professional development to date?
I held several positions in banking before becoming a private banker. These experiences gave me technical knowledge as well as valuable human encounters.
Looking back, I’m proud of my journey: I started as an apprentice and progressed, step by step, through hard work and curiosity. This progression recently led me to take on new responsibilities as Lausanne Team Leader, a development that represents both meaningful recognition and additional motivation.
Proximity, sincerity, authenticity: a shared philosophy
The bank’s boutique model places great emphasis on closeness. How do you embody these values?
I completely identify with the Bank’s philosophy. Sincerity and proximity guide my relationships, both professional and personal. I also bring high standards and strong professionalism to ensure every client truly feels “at home”.
Success is always a collective effort
This double distinction also reflects teamwork. Which internal factors make such achievements possible?
No one stands alone behind a result. Teamwork is essential: you can’t know everything, and each person brings their expertise. I am genuinely grateful to my colleagues, managers, friends and acquaintances for their support.
Passing on passion and high standards to future generations
What advice would you give to a young advisor wishing to build long-lasting client relationships?
Commit to what you do, maintain impeccable ethics and act as if you were managing your own affairs. Keep your passion alive, train continuously, stay curious. These foundations are what allow strong and sincere relationships to grow.
Looking ahead… with ambition and confidence
Finally, what do these awards represent for the future of your career?
Winning them again (laughs)! More seriously, continuing my journey at Piguet Galland and continuing to bring peace of mind to my clients.
A first interview that reflects our vision of advisory services: human, committed, intimate
With this interview with Jérôme Morel, our series opens under the banner of authenticity and sharing. Through the journeys and dedication of our teams, we want to illustrate what gives strength to our model: a profoundly human relationship, where every voice matters and every story has its place.
We sum up this philosophy in two words: intimate banking.
And it comes to life through those who embody it every day.
